I led the WAVE physiological edge-server project (the first FDA-cleared high-speed physiological data server for use with clinical predictive analytics systems (such as GE Command Center), collaborated with researchers and industry experts to develop go-to-market strategies for clinical predictive analytics, and established a mobile-vendor interface to EMR for real-time waveform viewing and predictive analytics within the Epic Haiku FHIR extensible framework. This mobile ICU viewing platform is marketed today by Hillrom.
Clinical Predictive Analytics
This term refers to a system that can predict a patient’s well-being based on real-time physiological data. In the case of GE’s Command Center, the patient’s near real-time heart rate variability is calculated into a patient degradation score. This system is a real-time upgrade to the older multiple-parameter scores such as the Rothman Index and MEWS/PEWS.
